The police will conduct a special investigation into the fire that broke out at an apartment complex in Wellawatta this morning (February 8) which claimed two lives.
Police claimed that one of the body identified as P.K.Sathiyanadan (69)was found hanging from a ceiling fan while the woman Balasupramaniyam Sharmila (32)who sustained injuries due to the fire died upon arrival at Hospital.
It was revealed fire has broken out during the time of this incident. Neighbors of the house informed police this regard. The police claimed that there were suspicious aspects surrounding the incident and a special investigation will be conducted regarding the causes of the two deaths.
Police further said legal wife of the victim is residing in United States.
